Marblehead man cited after boat hits pole

DANBURY TOWNSHIP -- A Marblehead man was cited for failing to follow towing requirements after a boat he was pulling crashed into a utility pole on Ohio 163 Saturday, according to the Ohio State Highway patrol.

A spokeswoman at the Sandusky post said Robert L. Boyer, 66, was towing an 18 foot Starcraft west on 163 in the 6200 block about 12:30 p.m. when the trailer detached from his pickup truck and struck the pole. Power was temporarily interrupted in the area and the road was closed for about a half hour, witnesses reported.

There were no injuries.
